They trust us

Placing the building in its surroundings.

A 3D tour shows the interior and, with the Pro3, the immediate exterior. The drone adds what no ground camera can: the overall view. Visitors grasp at a glance the size of the site, the road access, the parking, the neighbouring buildings and the grounds, then come back down into the tour.

A real tour to explore

Candiac’s Atelier 25, from the sky to the garage.

Open the tour’s menu and choose the “Aerial views” section: the City of Candiac’s public works building appears from the sky, with its grounds and access routes. Close the view, and you are back in the workshops.

For which sites?

How it works

From the first call to going live.

  1. 1

    A 30-minute call

Site address, what you want to show, date. We check the flight zone and send you a written quote.

  2. 2

    The scan, interior and exterior

The 3D tour is captured with the Pro3; the drone flies the same day if the weather allows, otherwise on a rescheduled date at no charge.

  3. 3

    The integration

The aerial panoramas are placed in the tour, through a 360 point or a tag, or in the “Aerial views” section of the custom branding.

  4. 4

    The delivery

The 3D tour is online 24 to 48 hours after the scan in most cases; the aerial views are added afterwards, along with the aerial photos and videos if you chose them.

Public pricing

The price of aerial views.

Aerial 360 drone views are an option added to the Matterport 3D tour (from $395 depending on floor area). To present them in a section of the menu, custom branding is required.

What aerial views don’t do

The flight depends on the weather: rain, strong wind or snow means rescheduling, at no charge. Some zones (near airports, sensitive areas) require an authorization or are no-fly zones; we check this before the quote. Finally, aerial panoramas are 360 images, not 3D data: no measurements are taken in them. Measurements are taken in the 3D tour captured with the Pro3.

360 aerial view by drone: the site’s context, in the tour

A Matterport 3D virtual tour shows the interior of your building, room by room, and the Pro3 camera also captures the immediate exterior, even in full sun, according to Matterport. What it cannot show is the big picture: the shape of the roof, the extent of the grounds, the parking, the road access, the neighbouring buildings. That is the role of the 360 aerial view: a 360 aerial panorama captured by drone, which visitors rotate in every direction, then come back down from into the tour.

How aerial views integrate into the 3D tour

Each 360 drone photo is placed in the tour as an additional point of view: a 360 point on the floor plan, or a tag in the most relevant room. Matterport accepts these panoramas as 360 views, without 3D data. With custom branding, the aerial views form a section of the menu: visitors open it, choose the view they are interested in, and the panorama is displayed on top of the tour, without leaving it. That is what you see in the City of Candiac’s Atelier 25, higher up on this page.

Aerial photos and videos for your website

The same flight serves other purposes: aerial photos for your website’s home page, a short video for your social media, an overall image for a listing. Tell us during the call: the quote will take it into account.

A certified pilot, a flight by the rules

Flights are conducted by a certified drone pilot, under Canadian regulations. Some zones, near airports or in sensitive areas, require an authorization or are no-fly zones: we check the address before sending you the quote. And if the weather turns (rain, wind or snow), the flight is rescheduled at no charge; the interior scan with the Pro3 goes ahead as planned.

For whom: municipalities, plants, campuses, real estate

A municipal garage, a plant, a campus, a lakeside hotel, a property with large grounds: anywhere the building’s surroundings matter as much as the interior, the aerial view gives visitors the bearings they were missing. Municipalities present a new building in its neighbourhood; large sites and campuses use it as a map to move from one pavilion to the next; on a construction site, the view from the sky dates the state of the lot alongside the 3D scan of the building.

In real estate, real estate drone photography in Montreal shows the grounds, the neighbourhood and the view from the roof at a glance. According to an NAR statistic cited by Matterport, listings with aerial photos are 68% more likely to sell.

What aerial views don’t replace

Aerial panoramas are images, not 3D data: no measurements are taken in them, and they appear neither in the 3D dollhouse view nor in the floor plan. Measurements, areas and plans come from the tour captured with the Pro3, accurate to ±20 mm at 10 m according to Matterport.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers.

Another question? Write to marc@panosphere360.com or call 514 262-9248.

What is a 360 aerial view?

A 360-degree panorama captured by drone above your site. Visitors rotate it in every direction, as in a virtual tour, and see the building, its grounds, its access routes and the neighbourhood.

Are the aerial views integrated into the 3D tour?

Yes. Each panorama opens from the tour, through a 360 point placed on the floor plan or through a tag. With custom branding, the views form an “Aerial views” section of the menu and open on top of the tour, without leaving it.

Can measurements be taken in the aerial views?

No. Aerial panoramas are 360 images, with no 3D data. Measurements are taken in the 3D tour captured with the Pro3, accurate to ±20 mm at 10 m according to Matterport.

What flight authorizations are required?

The flight is conducted by a certified drone pilot, under Canadian regulations. Some zones require an authorization or are no-fly zones; we check the address before sending you the quote.

What happens if it rains on the day of the scan?

The flight is rescheduled at no charge. The interior scan with the Pro3 goes ahead as planned, and the drone comes back on a date agreed with you.

Can you also provide aerial photos and videos?

Yes. The same flights produce aerial photos and short aerial videos for your website, your listings and your social media. Mention it during the call so the quote takes it into account.

What types of sites is it useful for?

Municipal buildings, plants, campuses, hotels and tourist sites, properties with grounds and construction sites. In short, anywhere the building’s surroundings matter as much as the interior.

Is the drone visible in the 3D tour?

No. The 3D tour is captured on the ground with the Pro3; the drone flies separately. The aerial panoramas are then added to the tour as additional points of view.

How much do drone aerial views cost?

$450 to $495, in addition to the Matterport 3D tour (from $395 depending on floor area). Integration into a section of the menu requires custom branding, $500 to $650.

Do you do aerial views across Quebec?

Yes, in Montreal, on the South Shore and across Quebec. Beyond about 100 km from Montreal, a travel fee of $0.73/km applies, shared between the sites of a single trip.
