Virtual tour analytics and lead generation

A tour you can measure, and that brings in leads.

Basic analytics (visits, unique visitors, impressions) come with the hosting of every Matterport 3D tour, from $395. The business card and the “Call” button are part of standard branding (from $100); Google Analytics 4 and the form come with custom branding (from $500). We have hosted tours across Quebec since 2015. Phone: 514 262-9248.

  • Visits, unique visitors, impressions: included
  • Business card and call-to-action button in the tour
  • Google Analytics 4 with custom branding

They trust us

Know what the tour brings in.

A virtual tour is an investment: it’s only natural to read its results. How many people opened it, how many times, from which channel, and how many called or wrote to you from the tour. Basic analytics come with hosting; the contact tools and Google Analytics 4 are added with branding.

A real tour to explore

The Vicostone Canada showroom.

58 tags, nearly one per product: every quartz slab leads to its spec sheet. This is the kind of tour you want numbers for: how many visitors, how many times, and how many got in touch.

Who measures their virtual tour?

How it works

From the first call to going live.

  1. 1

    A 30-minute call

What you want to get from the tour: calls, appointments, forms. Written quote.

  2. 2

    The scan and the launch

Scan with the Pro3, tour online 24 to 48 hours later in most cases, analytics active as soon as it goes live.

  3. 3

    Branding and contact tools

Business card, call-to-action button, form and GA4 ID integrated into the tour, then tested with you.

  4. 4

    Follow-up

You read the numbers whenever you want; we prepare a report on request and adjust the button or the form as needed.

Good to know: analytics don’t name anyone

Matterport counts visits, unique visitors and impressions; it doesn’t say who watched. To know a visitor, they have to come forward: that is the role of the call-to-action button and the form. Google Analytics 4 adds source, device and duration, anonymously, in your own account. We promise neither a number of leads nor a specific connector: the form is connected to your email or your CRM depending on what your tool accepts.

What analytics does a Matterport virtual tour provide?

Every Matterport 3D virtual tour hosted in our account counts its views. According to Matterport, three numbers are tracked: visits (the number of times the tour was opened), unique visitors and impressions (the number of times it was displayed in a page, even without being launched). They can be read per tour or across all your tours, and exported as a CSV file. These virtual tour analytics are included with hosting: one year included, then from $150 per year.

What they don’t tell you, honestly: who watched. Analytics are anonymous. To turn a visitor into a lead, you have to give them a way to come forward, inside the tour itself.

Turning a visitor into a lead

With standard branding, the tour displays your business card (name, photo, phone, email) and a call-to-action button: “Call”, “Book an appointment”, “Request a quote”, “Book”. The button leads to the number, the calendar or the page you choose. The visitor who has just walked through the model unit, the banquet hall or the showroom reaches you without leaving the tour. For a real estate listing, Matterport also provides a version without a business card or button, required by some listing systems.

Google Analytics 4: the tour in your dashboards

With custom branding, the tour is connected to your Google Analytics 4: you see its views there just like your website’s, with source, device and duration, in your own account. You can then measure which channel brings in visitors, from the Google Business Profile to the newsletter, and what they do next. See web integration and sharing for the channels themselves.

A form connected to your email or your CRM

The same branding hosts a contact form placed in the tour. Requests are sent to your email or to your CRM, depending on what your tool accepts; we check it together before promising it to you. For a virtual showroom, the form serves as a quote request; for a residential building, as a showing request.

What Matterport’s case studies say

Matterport publishes case studies with figures on lead generation. Two real estate companies report 17% more leads per property and 49% more qualified leads; a broker, time on page going from 45 seconds to more than 2 minutes. They are Matterport customers, not Panosphere ones, and their results depend on their market: orders of magnitude, not a promise.

Reading the numbers and putting them to use

Analytics are only useful if someone reads them. On request, we prepare a report for the period: visits, unique visitors, impressions, requests received, all with commentary. Campaign review, annual report or accountability report: it shows what the tour brought in and what can be improved. Few visitors? We work on sharing. Many visitors but few contacts? We move the button, simplify the form, add a tag.

What analytics do you get for a virtual tour?

According to Matterport, every tour counts its visits, its unique visitors and its impressions, that is, the times it was displayed in a page. The numbers can be read per tour or as a whole.

Are analytics included?

Yes. They come with the tour’s hosting, included the first year and then from $150 per year. There is nothing to add to view them.

Can analytics be exported, or can we receive a report?

Yes. According to Matterport, the analytics can be exported as a CSV file. On request, we prepare a report for the period, with the numbers read and commented, for a campaign review or an accountability report.

Can a call or appointment button be added inside the 3D tour?

Yes. With standard branding, the tour displays your business card and a call-to-action button: “Call”, “Book an appointment”, “Request a quote”, pointing to the number, the calendar or the page of your choice.

Is the tour compatible with Google Analytics?

Yes, with custom branding. Your Google Analytics 4 ID is connected to the tour, and its views appear in your account, with source, device and duration.

Can the tour be connected to our CRM?

Through the contact form, whose submissions are sent to your email or to your CRM, depending on what your tool accepts. We check it together before promising anything.

Do we know who watched the tour?

No. Analytics are anonymous: numbers, not names. A visitor is only known if they come forward through the call-to-action button or the form. That is why we place them in the tour.

Does a virtual tour really generate leads?

In case studies published by Matterport, two real estate companies report 17% more leads per property and 49% more qualified leads. They are Matterport customers, not Panosphere ones; your results depend on your market.
