Private and secure virtual tour

The 3D tour that only the right eyes will see.

A private virtual tour costs the same as a Matterport 3D tour, from $395 under 1,500 sq. ft.: password, unlisted link, access per audience, blurring and trimming included. Half a day of scanning for about 10,000 sq. ft., online within 24 to 48 hours in most cases, for plants, governments and due diligence anywhere in Quebec. Call 514 262-9248.

  • Password and unlisted link included
  • Up to 10 Views per audience, according to Matterport
  • Automatic face blurring, manual when needed
  • SOC 2 Type II and PIPEDA, according to Matterport

They trust us

Show without exposing.

A virtual tour doesn’t have to be public to be useful. A factory, a municipal building or a secure site is scanned with the same tools: dollhouse view, measurements, information tags. Only the access changes: you decide who gets in, with which password, and what stays out of frame.

A real tour to explore

The Gatineau drinking water plant.

Pumps, piping and mechanical rooms scanned for the City of Gatineau, with tags on the equipment. This example is available as a demonstration; a private tour offers the same tools, behind a password.

Who needs a confidential tour?

How it works

From the first call to going live.

  1. 1

    A 30-minute call

Floor area, areas to exclude, audiences to distinguish, hosting requirements. Written quote.

  2. 2

    The scan with the Pro3

Often in the evening or on Saturday morning, when the premises are empty. You cover or put away what must not be captured.

  3. 3

    Edits and access

Blurring, trimming, Views per audience, password: everything is set before you receive the link.

  4. 4

    Handover and training

Link and password handed to you alone; a one-hour training session by video call to share the tour and manage access.

Good to know: intranet, technical files and subcontractors

Private embedding in an intranet (the tour displayed in an internal page, with no link or password) requires an Enterprise plan with Matterport, sold separately: we offer it on request. Manual blurring is not kept in E57 files, according to Matterport: for a point cloud, sensitive areas are excluded by trimming or by preparing the premises.

What is a private virtual tour?

A private virtual tour is a Matterport 3D virtual tour like any other: captured with the Pro3 camera, navigable, measurable, with its dollhouse view and its 2D floor plan. The difference lies in who can open it. Instead of a public link, you receive an unlisted link, protected by a password. The tour is not published on Google Maps, does not appear in our portfolio and is not shared with anyone but you. You decide who to pass them on to, and we change them on request.

Different access for each audience

According to Matterport, a tour can have up to 10 Views, each with its own information tags and its own link. Management sees everything; the maintenance team sees the mechanical rooms and the equipment sheets; a tenant or a prospective buyer only sees the spaces that concern them. This is the basis of the building digital twin, where each team works in its own version of the same model.

Blurring and trimming: what we don’t show

A secure 3D tour is also a tour where nothing unwanted stays visible.

  • Automatic face blurring. According to Matterport, the AI detects and blurs faces captured during the scan.
  • Manual blurring. With a brush tool, we blur licence plates, screens, documents left on a desk or any detail you point out to us.
  • Trimming. A server room, a laboratory, the executive office: rooms to exclude are removed from the dollhouse view and from navigation. Entire scan positions can also be hidden.
  • Preparing the premises. The simplest option is still to put away or cover what must not be captured. We discuss it before the scan.

Where is your data hosted?

The tour is hosted on Matterport’s platform, in the Amazon Web Services cloud. According to Matterport, the data is encrypted; the platform is compliant with SOC 2 Type II, the GDPR and Canada’s PIPEDA, and its ISO 27001 certification is in progress. Good to know: some of Matterport’s subcontractors are located in the United States and in Australia. If your organization requires hosting in Canada, tell us before the quote; we will tell you honestly whether the platform is suitable.

Who owns the tour?

According to Matterport, a tour belongs to the holder of the account that hosts it. By default, that is Panosphere 360’s account, with one year of hosting included, then from $150 per year. On request, we transfer the tour to your own Matterport account: the address stays the same and you have full control over it. Two conditions, set by Matterport: a Pro3 scan cannot be transferred to a free account, and a Starter account accepts it up to 500 positions without being able to transfer it again. See hosting and maintenance for the details.

Intranet and private embedding

A password-protected link fits easily into your intranet. Private embedding as such, that is, the tour displayed in an internal page with no link or password, requires an Enterprise plan with Matterport, sold separately. We offer it on request, with a quote that takes it into account.

Who is it for?

Factories, where the industrial tour is used to plan and train without opening the doors to everyone; ministries and municipalities, for buildings closed to the public; due diligence on a building; secure sites, where 3D scanning documents the premises without exposing them.

A private tour with Panosphere 360

A single person, Marc Durand Bréard, from the quote to the one-hour training session included; scans possible in the evening and on Saturday morning, when the premises are empty; service in French across Quebec. More than 1,000 tours published on Google Maps since 2015, and every one that must stay private does. See our prices or write to us for a 30-minute call.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers.

Another question? Write to marc@panosphere360.com or call 514 262-9248.

Can a virtual tour be password-protected?

Yes, and it’s included. You receive an unlisted link and a password, which you distribute yourself and which we change on request.

What is an unlisted link?

An address that is neither published on Google Maps, nor shown in our portfolio, nor shared with anyone. Only those who have the link and the password can open the tour.

Are faces blurred?

Yes. According to Matterport, the AI automatically detects and blurs captured faces. We then blur by hand the licence plates, screens, documents or names you point out to us.

Can a sensitive room be hidden?

Yes. The room is trimmed from the dollhouse view and removed from navigation, or simply left out of the scan. The safest option is still to close or cover what must not appear.

Can different teams be given different access?

Yes. According to Matterport, a tour can have up to 10 Views, each with its own tags and its own link. Management, maintenance or tenants each see their own version of the same building.

Where is the data hosted, and is it encrypted?

On Matterport’s platform, in the Amazon Web Services cloud. According to Matterport, the data is encrypted and the platform is compliant with SOC 2 Type II, the GDPR and PIPEDA. Some of Matterport’s subcontractors are located in the United States and in Australia.

Can we embed the tour in our intranet without making it public?

A password-protected link fits in any intranet. Private embedding as such, with no link or password, requires an Enterprise plan with Matterport: we offer it on request, with a quote that takes it into account.

Who owns the tour? Can it be transferred to our account?

According to Matterport, the tour belongs to the holder of the account that hosts it, which is Panosphere 360 by default. On request, we transfer it to your Matterport account, at the same address. A Pro3 scan cannot go into a free account.
