3D training and OHS in the workplace

Train on true-to-life premises, without stopping production.

3D training and OHS on your premises starts at $395 for a Matterport tour under 1,500 sq. ft.; instructions and the guided path are added at $90 per hour. Scanning never stops production: half a day covers about 10,000 sq. ft. Delivery within 24 to 48 hours in most cases, anywhere in Quebec, since 2015. Call us at 514 262-9248.

They trust us

The workplace explained on site, from a distance.

A classroom presentation shows photos and drawings; a 3D tour puts the employee in the garage, in front of the press or at the entrance to the lockout area. Instructions and videos open at the exact spot where they matter. They explore at their own pace, before their first day.

A real tour to explore

Candiac’s Atelier 25, from the garage to the offices.

The City of Candiac’s public works building: truck garage, workshops, administration, exterior. Step into the garage, click on a tag: this is how a new employee would discover their workplace.

Who trains their teams in a 3D tour?

How it works

From the first call to going live.

  1. 1

    A 30-minute call

Floor area, positions involved, instructions to place, date. Written quote.

  2. 2

    The scan with the Pro3

Without interrupting your operations; in the evening or on Saturday morning if needed.

  3. 3

    The path and the instructions

Online 24 to 48 hours later. With your OHS officer, we place the tags, the videos and the stops of the guided path, view by view.

  4. 4

    Validation and training

Your team reviews, we correct, then a one-hour training session lets you keep the content up to date.

What 3D training does not replace

The tour prepares and complements training; it replaces neither hands-on training on the equipment, nor a supervisor’s guidance, nor the employer’s obligations. The Matterport tour alone does not record who has completed the path, and tags do not display in a virtual reality headset.

3D training in the workplace: the principle

3D on-site training starts from a Matterport 3D virtual tour of your building: the Pro3 camera scans every zone, and Matterport assembles it into a model you move through freely, with the floor plan view and the measurement tool. We then place your health and safety officer’s instructions and videos at the exact spot where they apply, and chain the important stops into a guided path.

The result is a digital twin for training: true to life, up to date, available in a browser, without booking a room or pulling a supervisor off the floor.

Onboarding and orientation before day one

The first day is often spent searching: the locker rooms, the nearest exit, the zone where a hard hat becomes mandatory. With 3D employee onboarding and orientation, all of this is discovered at home, the day before. New employees receive a link, walk through the building, open the tags; they arrive already knowing the premises. The same link serves the outside contractor for their safety orientation.

OHS instructions where they apply

In OHS training through a virtual tour, the instruction is no longer a slide: it is an information tag placed in the space. What we place with your OHS officer:

  • Zones: at the entrance to an area, the list of required protective equipment.
  • Lockout: the procedure, as a PDF or a video, in front of the panel or valve concerned.
  • Equipment: the sheet for a press, a forklift or a hood, in front of the unit.
  • Exits and first aid: exits, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid kits, defibrillators, each in its place.

Tags accept text, photos, videos, PDFs and links; layers group them by theme, and the search finds a word across all the content.

A guided path, then one version per position

So that no one misses the essentials, the important stops are chained into a guided tour: locker rooms, workstation, hazardous areas, exits, in the order of a real first day, with a caption at each stop. Everyone can then explore freely.

Not all teams need the same content. According to Matterport, a single tour can have up to 10 views, each with its own tags and access: production, maintenance, subcontractors. With our branding tool, the menu also presents a section per position, in your colours, in French and in English; a questionnaire can be added on request.

Remote training in the workplace, without risk

Some areas are hard to visit as a group: an electrical room, a roof, a service void. In the tour, they are explored on screen, with their instructions, before entering for real. And since the scan takes place during your operations or after hours, training never stops production.

Matterport cites up to 30% more training efficiency in the manufacturing sector. In its case studies (Matterport clients, not Panosphere clients), Aetos reports building engineer training time cut in half, and KLM, cleaning teams 30% faster.

Content you keep up to date

A machine is moved, a procedure is revised: the tag is edited online, by your team with access to the Matterport editor ($150 per year) and a one-hour training session included, or by ours at $90 per hour. When a zone is reorganized, we rescan only that zone and merge it into the existing model. The same model feeds the equipment register and the emergency response plan, each in its own view.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers.

Another question? Write to marc@panosphere360.com or call 514 262-9248.

Can employees be trained remotely with a 3D tour?

Yes. The tour opens in a browser, on a computer, tablet or phone, from a link. New employees go through it before their first day; subcontractors receive their safety orientation before arriving.

How are health and safety instructions placed in the tour?

Each instruction becomes a tag placed where it applies: PPE at the entrance to a zone, lockout procedure in front of the panel, video in front of the machine. Tags accept text, photos, videos, PDF and links.

Can a quiz be added?

The Matterport tour alone has no quiz. On request, a questionnaire is added through our branding tool, in the tour’s menu. Formal tracking of learning stays in your training system.

Can hazardous areas be visited safely?

Yes, it is one of the first uses: an electrical room, a roof or a lockout area is visited on screen, with its instructions, before entering for real. The scan follows your safety rules.

Can we have one version per position or team?

Yes. According to Matterport, a single tour can have up to 10 views, each with its own tags and access. With branding, the menu also offers a section per position.

Do we have to stop production for the scan?

No. The scan is done room by room during your operations, or in the evening and on Saturday morning if you prefer empty premises. We follow your access and safety rules.

How soon is the training ready?

The 3D tour is online 24 to 48 hours after the scan in most cases. Instructions, videos and the guided path are then added, within a few days depending on the amount of content.

How much does 3D workplace training cost?

The 3D tour is billed by floor area, from $395 for under 1,500 sq. ft. Content is added at $90 per hour, branding costs $100 to $650 depending on the level, and editor access, $150 per year.
